Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ David Sproule, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Mongolia, presented Monday his diplomatic credentials to Kh.Battulga, President of Mongolia.

After the credentials presentation, the President received the Canadian Ambassador. Beginning the meeting, David Sproule emphasized Ottawa and Ulaanbaatar have a similarity as they are the coldest capital cities in the world.

Underlining that Canada has vast experience in the mining industry, the President said Mongolia wants to cooperate with Canada in the post-exploitation natural rehabilitation. He said the bilateral trade turnover has not reached a satisfactory level.

The Ambassador said the countries are possible to boost the cooperation in the mining and rehabilitation, and underlined that the Agreement Between Canada and Mongolia for the Promotion and Protection of Investments  would contribute to the bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, the President said the countries can collaborate in the agricultural sector, and Mongolia is willing to cooperate with the Canadian Ministry of Forestry.

The Ambassador said he will do all his best to expand the bilateral relations within his tenure, and wished the President success.

Present at the ceremony were Z.Enkhbold, Chief of the Presidential Office, B.Battsetseg, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other officials.
