Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Kh.Battulga, President of Mongolia, met Wednesday his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in during the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok, Russia.

Present at the meeting were G.Ganbat, Minister of Road and Transportation Development, Z.Enkhbold, Chief of the Presidential Office and B.Battsetseg, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The dignitaries congratulated each other on being elected the Presidents and taking their duties recently.

Mr Moon Jae-in believes that President Kh.Battulga would work successfully on his position because he is a politician, who was promoted from the business sphere, and he has an experience in being served as a MP and minister. “I think we have the same willingness to combat against corruption and to boost the development of our countries,” the South Korean President said.

“We are brothers because our countries also have common shares in the language, history and geographical position. Many Mongolians are working and living in South Korea, contributing to the South Korean economy,” he said, and wished success to this meeting for fostering the bilateral ties.

Mentioning about reading the history about a rapid development of South Korea in short time, Mr. Battulga expressed his hope that the two Presidents would boost the close and friendly cooperation.

The Mongolian President asked his South Korean counterpart to focus attention to making a policy over Mongolians in the country more flexible. He also asked the South Korean side to make opportunities for the travelling Mongolians to Korea more open and to pay attention to a visa-free agreement.

Mr. Moon Jae-in pledged to focus his attention to the issues.

The Presidents discussed issues of ensuring the security in Northeast Asia, particularly, the Korean Peninsula, broadening the regional economic cooperation and intensifying the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue Initiative on Northeast Asian Security and the Greater Tumen Initiative.

The parties have the same ideas on widening the bilateral cooperation in all sectors and then invited each other to pay a visit.
