State Secretary of MFA at ARF Retreat Session

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ D.Davaasuren, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with his accompanying delegation is taking part in the 24th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Retreat Session which is taking place on August 7-8 in Manila, the Philippines.
At the session, Mr Davaasuren expressed a position of Mongolia concerning regional and international security, and then affirmed his country’s willingness to partake in the East Asia Summit (EAS) and to become a partner of the ASEAN Talks.
While attending the session, the State Secretary held bilateral talks with Mr Ri Yong-ho, the Foreign Minister of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK); and Federica Mogherini, Ms High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission in the Juncker Commission.
In addition, Mr Davaasuren exchanged views on the bilateral relations and cooperation with the Foreign Ministers of Russia, China, South Korea, Japan and the Philippines.
This year’s ARF Retreat Session mainly focused on tensions in the Korean Peninsula, nuclear tests of North Korea, disputes over South China Sea, terrorism and cyber security issues.
