Mayor of Berlin visiting Ulaanbaatar

Mayor of Berlin, Mr Michael Muller is paying a visit to Ulaanbaatar. On July 17, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold received the guest to discuss about cooperation between two capital cities. “I am fully confident that Your visit is going to be a great impetus for boosting bilateral ties of our countries”, Mr Batbold said.
“Mongolia has been taking part in the ITB Berlin exhibition since 2015, capturing the opportunity to present our country, its history and culture. Therefore, Berlin plays an important role in promoting Mongolia to the world”, he underlined.
In response, Mr Muller said “I have observed the urban planning of Ulaanbaatar as soon as I arrived at the airport this morning. Housing, constructing schools and kindergartens and access to hospitals have been unavoidable matters and challenges faced by mayors of all cities around the globe. After discussing cooperation approaches with some UB City officials, I view that we are able to collaborate on professional cadres’ capacity building”.
Mayor S.Batbold expressed his interest in learning experiences from Berlin on matter of urban planning and public transport. Mr Michael Muller accepted his request and expressed that it is possible to train municipal officials in Berlin.
