Nationwide voter turnout stands at 18.83 percent

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The nationwide voter turnout reaches 18.83 percent in the first five hours of the second ballot of presidential election.

The General Election Commission reports that voter turnout is 20.6 percent in the capital city and 17.33 in the provinces as of 12 PM.

According to Ch.Sodnomtseren, Head of the General Election Commission, voter turnout is 2 percent lower than that of the first round. In the June 26 poll, nationwide voter turnout was 21.3 percent at 12PM.

Overseas ballot was conducted on July 4-5 with 37.7 percent voter turnout as 2.599 Mongolian nationals living abroad voted at 42 polling stations.

The General Election Commission also reported that 26.086 people voted through portable ballot boxes, out of 28.544 people initially registered.
