Mongolian cultural event organized in Prague
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of the Mongolian traditional Lunar New Year, the Embassy of Mongolia in Prague, Czech Republic and “Step in Mongolia” Mongolian-French tourism company co-organized a cultural event to introduce Mongolian history, customs and tradition on February 13 in Prague.
In the scope of the event, French photographer Remi Chapeaublanc held a photo exhibition at the Exhibition Hall of the French Institute Prague. The exhibition displayed photos of Mongolian herder lifestyle, culture and customs, including photos about an annual Felt Festival held in Bat-Ulzii soum of Uvurkhangai province.
The guests at the event watched a short documentary film about Mongolian herder’s culture and the Morin Khuur instrument (horse head-fiddle) and throat singing performance and enjoyed Mongolian traditional food and drinks. They also exchanged their opinions on tradition, customs and heritage of Mongolia and the present situation of the tourism industry and talked about possibilities to promote Mongolia to the Czech Republic and to intensify bilateral tourism cooperation.
