Protocols on quarantine signed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Acting head of the General Authority of Specialized Inspection N.Tsagaankhuu met Monday with visiting Mei Kebao, the Vice Minister of the China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ).

The sides discussed the cooperation between the inspection authorities and quarantine issues.

“Our cooperation has been intensifying recent years. We are meeting here to realize one of the works which were concurred during an individual meeting between the Prime Ministers of the countries at the 11th ASEM Summit held last July in Ulaanbaatar,” Tsagaankhuu said.

Following the meeting, the parties signed memorandums on plant quarantine requirements for Mongolia’s export of silimarina seeds to China, on quarantine for mutton, beef and goat meat, hygiene, veterinary service; and a Mongolia-China cooperation agreement on border hygiene and quarantine.

These documents are expected to help those companies that prepare and supplies meat and meat products to augment their revenues, to support the business landscape and to create better conditions for supplying products fully satisfied standards.
