Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Honored Sportswoman and professional mountaineer B.Gangaamaa has announced that she has started training for conquering the Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak of South America.

She said this is her second try and is expecting to conquer the Mount in January of 2016. If it is done, she will become the eighth Mongolian and fourth Mongolian woman to reach this point.

In 2013, Gangaamaa attacked Mt. Aconcagua together with country people D.Erdenetogtokh and Ch.Terbish, but she could not reach the peak due to some reasons. Only D.Erdenetogtokh continued her attack, becoming thus the very first Mongolian woman to reach the highest point.

One of the Seven Summits, Mt. Aconcagua is the highest mountain outside of Asia, at 6,960.8 meters, and by extension the highest point in both the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere. It is located in the Andes mountain range, in the Mendoza Province, Argentina, and lies 112 km northwest of its capital, the city of Mendoza. The summit is also located about five km from San Juan Province and 15 km from the international border with Chile; its nearest higher neighbor is Tirich Mir in the Hindu Kush, 16,520 km away.
