Autumn session of OSCE concluded

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 2015 Autumn Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) successfully took place on September 15-18 in Ulaanbaatar.

Hosted by the State Great Khural (parliament) of Mongolia under a theme “Addressing security challenges in the OSCE region and beyond: the role of parliamentarians in fostering regional co-operation”, this year’s parliamentary session brought together nearly 200 MPs to consider continuing and emerging security concerns for the OSCE area and the role of parliamentarians in fostering needed co-operation.

In frames of the session, three sub-meetings and an open discussions were held with topics “Regional security, combating terrorism and human trafficking: OSCE’s role and regional cooperation”, “Economic challenges to the region, food safety, reducing disaster risks and water management: Collaborating with international organizations”. Third sub-meeting’s theme was “Democratic institutions, human rights, media freedom, religious rights and gender equality” which was held following the Standing committee’s meeting.

The OSCE PA Autumn Session finished after the Standing committee’s meeting, and the closing remarks was made by MrN.Enkhbold MP, a member of the Group for the Mongolia-OSCE PA ties.
