Archival documents on display
“Recording and Heritage” exhibition of archival documents opened at the Mongolian National Museum. Ahead of the International Archives Day, the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs and National Archival Authority are jointly organizing the exhibition, where 150 exhibits are on display.

Livestock herders’ symposium commences
In his speech for opening the State Symposium of Herders, commenced today in the Government Palace, Prime Minister J.Erdenebat underlined: “Thanks to great hard work of our livestock herders, number of the country’s livestock population, by the end 2016, has reached 61.5 million, which is the historic record, and the value of products coming from animal husbandry amounted to over 3.0 trillion tugrugs. This is a major contribution by herders to the country’s economy”.
IMF approves Financial Arrangement for Mongolia
On May 24, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund approved a three-year extended arrangement under Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Mongolia in a total amount of about USD434.3 million to support the country’s economic reform program.
Government organizations of Kazakhstan to be decorated with Mongolian carpets
Mongolian carpet made from pure natural wool by the country’s leading carpet manufacturer ‘Erdenet Carpet’ will adorn the Government House and administrative headquarters of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan, which occupies an honorable position among international carpet manufacturers, has made an order of 2600 square meter carpet to the Erdenet Carpet Company for the reception halls of its administration houses.
Prime Minister visits croplands, looks over spring sowing
On May 21-22, Prime Minister Erdenebat Jargaltulga worked in the croplands of central provinces Tuv, Darkhan-Uul, Selenge, Bulgan and Orkhon, and met with farmers, looking over the progress of spring sowing. This year, Mongolia plans to cultivate 458 thousand hectares land.
Yak Festival anticipated in Umnugobi aimag
An annual Yak festival is expected on May 27 at the Gurvan saikhan Mountain in Umnugobi aimag. The event has been organized since 2012 by the Governor’s office of Umnugobi aimag, Administration Office of Gobi Gurvan saikhan National Park and Governor’s Offices of soums, which have yaks.
