Mongolian Student Wins Bronze at International Biology Olympiad

Ulaanbaatar, July 28, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 36th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2025) concluded on July 26, 2025, in Manila, the Republic of the Philippines, where top-performing students from around the world were announced.
From over 300 students from 75 countries who took part in this year’s competition, the Mongolian team earned one bronze medal and one honorable mention.
A. Amartuvshin, a 12th-grade student at Orchlon International School, received the bronze medal, while S. Sansarmaa, an 11th-grade student at Mongol Aspiration International School, received an honorable mention. Other team members also achieved high scores.
The Olympiad consisted of two three-hour theoretical exams and four 90-minute practical exams. This year’s competition was notable for introducing new practical modules in microbiology and biomedical sciences.
