Mongolia-Hungary Intergovernmental Commission holds 7th meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia-Hungary Intergovernmental Commission for Trade,
Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation held its 7th meeting
virtually on February 18 and 21.
The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Z.Mendsaikhan and Deputy State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Joo Istvan. The sides signed a protocol after discussing actions to intensify trade and economic relations between the two countries, expand cooperation in agriculture, water management, transport, education, culture, and arts, and improve environmental and social protection and healthcare.
The sides agreed on the
importance of public private partnerships in attracting investment to mega
projects in key economic sectors including infrastructure, energy, agriculture
and tourism and increasing trade.
Stressing that talks are
underway about the renewal of the Mongolia-Hungary Intergovernmental agreement on
air services, they also agreed to to seek opportunities for a direct flight
between the two countries.
Minister Z.Mendsaikhan expressed
pleasure that the Hungarian government is granting scholarships to 200 Mongolian
students annually, saying he hopes the program will continue.
The meeting also discussed and
reached agreement on issues related to the restoration of cultural heritage,
museum studies, preservation and protection of artifacts, joint archeological expedition,
and exchange of research groups.
