Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. By the preliminary results, in the
first 5 months of 2021, the gross industrial output reached MNT 7.7 trillion,
increased by MNT 2.4 trillion (43.6%) from the same period of previous year.
This increase was mainly due to MNT 1.8 trillion (50.1%) increase in mining and
quarrying gross output and MNT 511.1 billion (41.4%) increase in manufacturing
output. Also, the electricity, thermal energy and water supply production
output increased by MNT 60.6 billion (10.8%) and the water supply, and
sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities production output
increased by MNT 7.9 billion (14.4%) from the same period of year.
In May 2021, the gross industrial output reached MNT 1.5 trillion, increased by MNT 40.1 billion (2.7%) from the previous month. This increase was mainly due to MNT 84.5 billion (25.9%) increase in manufacturing gross output.
In May 2021, the mining and quarrying gross output reached MNT 1.0 trillion, increased by MNT 185.2 billion (22.1%) from the same period of previous year. This increase was mainly due to increases in extraction of crude petroleum by MNT 69.2 billion (6.3 times) and mining of metal ores by MNT 152.9 billion (24.2%) from same period of the previous year.
By the preliminary results of the first 5 months of 2021, the mining and quarrying sector, extraction of copper concentrate, iron ore, crude oil, fluorspar, gold, hard coal and brown coal increased by 6.1 percent to 3.2 times compared to the same period of previous year. In manufacturing sector, production of copper cathode 99%, lime, wheat flour, combed cashmere, milk, metal steel, alcoholic beverage, cement, coal briquette, meat, concentrated coal and cigarettes increased by 2.3 percent to 4.2 times compared to the same period of previous year.
However, in manufacturing sector, productions of water, soft drink, juice, alcohol, face covering, sanitizer and cashmere products decreased by 5.7-76.3% compared to the same period of previous year.
By the preliminary results of the first 5 months of 2021, the sales of industrial output reached MNT 9.9 trillion, increased by MNT 4.1 trillion (70.3%) compared to the same period of previous year. This increase was mainly resulted from MNT 3.5 trillion (2.0 times) increase in sales of mining and quarrying output.
The sales of mining and quarrying output increased by MNT 3.5 trillion (2.0 times) compared to the same period of previous year. This increase was mainly resulted from MNT 2.2 trillion (1.9 times) increase in sales of mining of metal ores output, MNT 1.1 trillion (2.5 times) increase in sales of mining of coal and lignite and MNT 279.4 billion (5.4 times) increase in sales of crude petroleum output, respectively.
In the total sales of industrial output, MNT 6.5 trillion (65.5%) was export, of which MNT 5.9 trillion (90.7%) was export of mining and quarrying output. In the total of MNT 5.9 trillion export of mining and quarrying output, 64.7% was metal ores, 27.3% was coal and lignite, 6.2% was crude petroleum, 1.8% was other mining and quarrying output.
