President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga informed the public on April 19 that he issued an ordinance on disbanding the Mongolian People’s Party, the ruling power. The ordinance has been forwarded to the State Supreme Court.

April 5, 2021. Members of the State Great Hural Ts.Munkhtsetseg and D.Tsogtbaatar called a press conference regarding the enactment of Law on Legal Status of Human Rights Defenders. The Law will come into force from July 1, 2021. During the press conference, MPs highlighted that Mongolia now becomes the first country in Asia to provide legal protection for human rights defenders.
