“Atar-4” Sustainable Agriculture Development Campaign Continues

Ulaanbaatar, March 19, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Under the “Atar-4” Sustainable Agriculture Development Campaign implemented by the Government of Mongolia, a Technology Week is being organized to introduce new innovations and technologies in agriculture and intensive livestock farming. 


In this regard, training sessions for farmers were organized on technologies for cultivating crop rotation plants such as oilseeds, corn, and soybeans, as well as methods for ensuring sustainable yields. Participants were informed about crop rotation practices, policies, and strategic goals set by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry, along with insights into the current state and future trends of agricultural production. Furthermore, on March 18, 2025, discussions were held on the outcomes of commissioned research aimed at developing technological recommendations for the agricultural sector, and scientific recommendations for improving crop quality and cultivation technologies were accepted. 


Moreover, a series of events will be organized on March 20-28, 2025, including: 


  • March 20: a seminar on perennial forage crop cultivation technologies, seed production, and their economic significance; 

  • March 24: a training session on the fundamentals of successful beef cattle farming, the production, cultivation, harvesting, and storage of high-quality certified feed; 

  • March 25: a training session on successful dairy farming, high-quality feed production, and mixed farming practices; 

  • March 26: the opening of the Plant Protection Center, along with a presentation on the Law of Plant Protection and environmentally friendly plant protection measures.

  • March 27: a training session on grain production, soil fertility, and erosion prevention technologies; a consultation for fruit, berry, and greenhouse producers; a training session on potato and vegetable production technologies; the use of digital systems in agriculture, mechanization, irrigation, and smart farming.

  • March 28: a Forum on the National Agricultural Entrepreneurs, a trade fair for domestic producers, and a consultation for industry leaders.  


The “Atar-4” Sustainable Agriculture Campaign, which is being implemented from 2024 to 2028, will introduce advanced agricultural technologies and adapt new, beneficial crops suited to Mongolia’s soil and climate conditions.
