Champion of the National Pride Day Wrestling Tournament Awarded the Chinggis Khaan Trophy

Ulaanbaatar, November 6, 2024 /MONTSAME/. By Decree No. 165, issued on November 2, 2024, by President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, the prestigious "Chinggis Khaan" Trophy will be awarded annually to the champion wrestler of the Wrestling Tournament National Pride Day, celebrating the birth of Great Chinggis Khaan.
This remarkable trophy, awarded for the first time, stands at 126 cm tall and weighs 18 kg. Crafted from cast bronze with gilded gold, the front of the trophy bears an inscription in traditional Mongolian script: “May Mongolia prosper under the might of the Eternal Blue Sky.” On its reverse, the trophy features an engraving of Great Chinggis Khaan’s royal seal. Designed by artist and designer Chuluunbaatar Sugar, the trophy embodies peace, courage, and vitality for Mongolians across the four cardinal directions and eight points of the compass, symbolizing the enduring presence of Mongolia.
The Chinggis Khaan Trophy will serve as a rotating trophy, awarded each year to the champion of the National Pride Day Wrestling Tournament. Additionally, a smaller replica of the Chinggis Khaan Trophy will be permanently awarded to each year's champion to retain.
The inaugural recipient of this honor is Dash Erdenebat, a "Khartsaga" (State Hawk) from Erdenedalai soum in Dundgobi aimag.
