Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines Pays a Courtesy Call on Prime Minister of Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, August 5, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines Enrique A. Manalo who is on an official visit to Mongolia at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai.

 

At the meeting, Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene emphasized that Mongolia attaches high importance to expanding relations and cooperation with the Republic of the Philippines, an important partner of Mongolia in Southeast Asia and an influential ASEAN member, and intensifying mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.

 

Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo stated that the Philippine Government has decided to provide humanitarian aid to Mongolia for disaster risk reduction. Expressing his gratitude to the Philippine government, and the people for the humanitarian aid, Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene expressed Mongolia’s commitment to cooperating in addressing climate change and reducing disaster risks and overcoming.

 

The parties discussed cooperation in training English language teachers in rural schools and universities of Mongolia in the Philippines, strengthening their capacity, implementing a teacher exchange program, and recruiting workers from the Philippines in the fields of education, tourism, and services.


Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene pointed out the "Year of Supporting Regional Development" and "Welcome to Mongolia" tourism policy implemented by the Government of Mongolia, and noted the importance of cooperating and learning from the experience of the Philippines, which is consistently and successfully implementing the Regional Development Policy and expanding cooperation in the tourism industry, intensifying the people’s exchange, and expanding ties between businesses in the field.
