Ulaanbaatar, August 3, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The "Centennial Celebration," an opera concert of global classical maestros, was held at the State Opera and Ballet Academic Theatre of Mongolia on August 3, 2024, at 4:00 PM. It was broadcast live for the public at Sukhbaatar Square.

Among the artists performing at the opera concert is the world-famous Plácido Domingo, who is one of the “Three Famous Tenors”, an opera singer, opera conductor, tenor, baritone, and an eclectic artist who has created over 150 characters and won 12 Grammy Awards. Additionally, the famous baritone of our time, People's Artist of Mongolia and recipient of the "Best International Opera Baritone" Award, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, performed at the opera concert with Nina Minasyan, whose international reputation is continuously rising, Fabio Sartori, one of the greatest tenors of the modern age and an opera singer at the legendary La Scala, and Gaetano Lo Coco, one of the leading young conductors in the world.

At the concert, the legendary opera singer Plácido Domingo said, “In my 65 years of dedication to opera, this is my first time performing in Mongolia. I accepted the invitation with great respect. Particularly, E. Amartuvshin, who won first place in the 2012 Plácido Domingo's Operalia, the World Opera Competition, is an extraordinarily talented artist. I am delighted to share the stage with him and experience his vocal technique and skill.”

People's Artist of Mongolia E. Amartuvshin remarked, “My dream of bringing the living legend Plácido Domingo to my homeland has come true. I hope he experiences the richness of Mongolian national art and culture and the beauty of our country.”

This event, taking place at the Shangri-La Ulaanbaatar, follows the opera concert and includes participation from government officials, international organizations in Mongolia, diplomatic missions to Mongolia, APU board members and administrators, and business representatives from companies such as Heineken, Kaltenberg, Castel, Krones, GEA, GS25, MCS, Nomin, and Altan Joloo.
