Federal President Steinmeier Concludes State Visit to Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, February 9, 2024 /MONTSAME/. A State Visit of President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Mongolia at the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa concluded on February 8, 2024.

 

During the Visit the Head of State of the two countries held a meeting and Chairman of the State Great Khural Zandanshatar Gombojav, and Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai paid a courtesy call on Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. 


The State Visit held within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Germany is considered remarkably significant in enhancing the relations of the two countries in all sectors as the bilateral relations have been advanced to a Strategic Partnership by signing the Joint Declaration regarding the Strategic Partnership between Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany during the Visit. Cooperation documents on developing relations and cooperation in specific sectors were also signed during the State Visit.


As part of the State Visit Honorable Guests visited herder family of Galbadrakh, the Honored Horse Trainer of Aimag, in Zuunmod soum, Tuv aimag on February 7, 2024 to get acquainted with the nomadic life, customs and traditions of the Lunar New Year.

President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa presented a camel to Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and a camel calf to First Lady Elke Büdenbender. Federal President Steinmeier was presented with a foal when he visited Mongolia as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2014, and now the stallion is in Bulgan soum, Dornod aimag.


Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia Helmut Kulitz, and other officials saw off Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and other delegates at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar.
