Ulaanbaatar, May 9, 2023 /MONTSAME/ As an integral part of the "Cultural Revival" campaign, a range of cultural education programs have taken place at the Tuv Aimag Public Library and “Humuun Tsogtsolbor” Secondary School.

According to the Law on Museums, a museum is mandated to organize educational and informative activities, and children under the age of 16 are allowed free entry into a museum. By virtue of this nationwide initiative, general education students are enabled to acquire new knowledge at government-owned museums and strengthen their overall education, and each museum regularly implements an educational program tailored to its unique characteristics.

For instance, the "Chinggis Khan" National Museum has designed a comprehensive educational program called "Learning in the Museum," which was delivered to students at the "Humuun Tsogtsolbor" secondary school in Tuv Aimag as a supplement to their history lessons. Through this program, students learned to sculpt Deer Stone Statues, draw mythical animals that guard the shrine of the Shoroon Bumbagar, and sketch designs of Hun animals. Meanwhile, the Tuv Aimag Public Library implemented programs that involved making magnetic stickers of the Hun's symbolic antelope, crafting postcards featuring the Mongolian idol "Naran Saran” (Sun and Moon) and creating felt hats modeled after the kings and queens of the Mongolian Empire.

Moreover, to captivate children's attention and make the programs even more engaging, VR (virtual reality) technology was employed, thereby enabling them to experience informal educational programs such as virtual visits to the Chinggis Khan National Museum and explore information about the exhibits and artifacts in an intriguing manner.

It is worth noting that all government-owned museums offer free admission to children under 16 years of age, in addition to providing free access to museum education programs that are designed to cater to children of all age groups.
