Education Minister meets Canadian Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Education and Science L.Enkh-Amgalan held a meeting with Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia Catherine Ivkoff. Around 400-500 Mongolian students are currently studying at Canadian universities. Since 2009, Canada has provided funding for a total of 62 projects and programs and support for teachers and people in rural areas.
Minister L.Enkh-Amgalan put requests including cooperating in providing computers and other equipment to schools in rural
areas, running Canadian curriculum schools, increasing the number of Mongolian students
in Canada, implementing double degree programs between universities of the two countries,
recruiting volunteer English language teachers, introducing the Canadian Government’s Computers
for Schools Plus program to Mongolia, and renewing the Memorandum established
with the Canadian Bureau for International Education.
At the end of the meeting, the Canadian Ambassador
expressed readiness to provide support and cooperate in education sector.
