Polar Star Order conferred on two Russian university rectors

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The
President of Mongolia issued a decree on conferring the high state
decoration—Polar Star Order—on V.G.Martynov, Rector of the Gubkin Russian State
University of Oil and Gas, and A.V.Torkunov, Rector of Moscow State Institute
of International Relations. Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia D.Davaa presented
the honor to the two rectors and the Friendship Medal to Founder of Odiyana
Orchin LLC R.V.Toriya on November 15.
The Ambassador emphasized that
the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas has made valuable
contributions to the training of Mongolian personnel at a meeting held with the
university’s rector during the award ceremony. Rector V.G.Martynov undertook to
further give focus to the training of Mongolian experts in the field of natural
gas.
At his meeting with Rector of
Moscow State Institute of International Relations A.V.Torkunov, Ambassador D.Davaa
said this year marks the 75th anniversary of enrollment of foreign students at the university, which was a Mongolian as the first foreign student. The Mongolian side expressed gratitude to the university
for educating political and social figures who contributed to the development
of Mongolia. Rector A.V.Torkunov expressed his hope that the cooperation
between the two sides will expand further.
