Outbound passengers required to get PCR test 24-48 hours before departure

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 23, the State Emergency Commission convened for a meeting and made a decision to make PCR COVID-19 testing compulsory for departing passengers. 


Upon the decision, which will come into effect on August 1, travelers who are departing from Mongolia must present a negative PCR test result from a test taken within the past 24-48 hours in compliance with the requirements of the country of destination. Each country has their own sets of requirements for COVID-19 prevention and some countries require inbound passengers to present negative antigen test. 


At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan ordered corresponding officials to launch the laboratory of biosafety level – 3 at the National Center for Communicable Diseases within August 5.
