1,015 new COVID-19 cases recorded, total reaches 40,396

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to the Ministry of Health, 1,015 people were detected with coronavirus nationwide in the past 24 hours.

Of the newly confirmed 998 local transmission cases, 895 were registered in the capital city and 103 in rural areas, and one hospital-acquired case was recorded. Moreover, 16 imported cases were reported. Sixteen Indian nationals, who arrived on a flight en route Delhi-Ulaanbaatar on April 26, have tested positive for coronavirus as a result of the repeated testing. They are now being isolated and cured in Dornogobi aimag.  

The total of COVID-19 cases in Mongolia now stands at 40,396, with 24,333 recoveries. In the past 24 hours, 1,401 people have made recovery. 

Unfortunately, seven patients aged between 57 and 83 have died of COVID-19 and the death toll reached 126.
