International scientific conference takes place on Mongolian Studies in Saint Petersburg

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On April 19-20, the 5th international scientific conference on ‘Cultural Heritage of the Mongolian People: Manuscript and Archival Collections being kept in Ulaanbaatar and Saint Petersburg’ took place in Saint Petersburg, Russia. 

 

The Institute of Oriental Manuscripts at the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of History and Ethnology at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, and the International Association for Mongolian Studies jointly organized the conference on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Russia, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Scientific Committee, and the 110th anniversary of Mongolia’s restoration of national freedom and independence. 


Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation D.Davaa virtually attended the conference, giving remarks. Following the conference, a resolution was issued on supporting young researchers, expanding joint research, and regularly organizing scientific conferences. The next conference is set to be organized in Ulaanbaatar in April 2023.

 

A total of 67 researchers attended the scientific conference both virtually and in person.
