Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city receives MCA Mongolia representatives

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 24, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city D.Sumiyabazar received representatives led by CEO of Millennium Challenge Account - Mongolia E.Sodontogos.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the program being implemented on improving the water supply of Ulaanbaatar city with financing of the second MCC Compact Agreement that was established between the Government of Mongolia and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). In the framework of the agreement, a program will be implemented on sustainably increasing the water supply of Ulaanbaatar city for the long term, with measures including the establishment of a new source of water and a wastewater treatment plant as well as works directed at the sustainability of the water sector.
Prior to implementing the program, there are certain requirements that must be fulfilled by the Government of Mongolia. One of the requirements - the issue of financing regarding the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority was successfully resolved, they highlighted. With this, the side of Mongolia fulfills all the requirements which allows the program implementation. MCC Mongolia CEO E.Sodontogos expressed her gratitude to Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city D.Sumiyabazar for having an important role in organizing the works. They came to the agreement to carry out further works in a swift manner.
