Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 16, Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan worked at the Ministry of Health to check on the progress of the tasks that were given by the State Emergency Commission (SEC).

A meeting was held with specialists to discuss an action plan for improving healthcare services in the current time, when the number of daily new COVID-19 cases is increasing.

The Deputy PM tasked the ministry officials to isolate COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms at their homes and provide treatment as well as to regularly give medical advice and recommendations through telephone.

In correlation with the current state of the situation, preparations are underway to increase the number of hospital beds and medical workers being mobilized.

As about 90 percent of the total of over 1,100 patients have mild symptoms, it was deemed possible to provide medical treatment at their homes. Thus, per the recommendation made by the council of experts under the SEC, the Deputy PM obliged the corresponding officials to urgently carry out the necessary works to isolate the patients at home.
