Mongolian universities to partner with University of Havana

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On March 4, Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Cuba Sh.Battsetseg had a
meeting with Rector of University of Havana (UH) Miriam Nicado to discuss at
length the progress of plans agreed at their previous meeting. They finalized
their plan on running a summer course in economics, law, history, and biology for
15 to 20 Mongolian teachers and students at UH from June to July, 2021 and had
discussions in detail about the draft agreement on the assignment of a UH Spanish
teacher at the National University of Mongolia as well as the master’s programs
in biotechnology and biochemistry to be offered to 15 Mongolian students from the academic year of 2022.
The Ambassador and UH Rector also agreed to finalize the draft
memorandums of cooperation between University of Finance and Economics of
Mongolia and UH and Mongolian University of Science and Technology and UH.
University of Havana, one of the oldest universities in
Cuba established in 1728, is ranked 498th in the Quacquarelli Symonds World
University Rankings 2021.
Ambassador Sh.Battsetseg welcomed UH Rector Miriam Nicado’s
invitation to deliver a lecture on Mongolia-Cuba relations at the university
in May and agreed to put on a photography exhibition relating to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between the two countries during the lecture. Moreover, the University of
Havana thanked the Mongolian Embassy for its concrete contributions to the development
of the UH's external relations and the meeting wrapped up with an agreement to develop
a series of long-term plans for cooperation in the future.
