35 new cases of COVID-19 detected, total reaches 2,866

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The daily COVID-19 press briefing for today, February 27 reported that a total of 35 new COVID-19 cases were detected in the past 24 hours. 

 

33 of the newly-confirmed cases are locally-acquired infections and two are passengers, who arrived on a charter flight from Istanbul.

 

Seven out of the 33 local infections are close contacts of the positive cases detected as a result of the Ulaanbaatar-wide ‘One Door-One Test’ testing campaign that ran between February 11 and 22. The remaining are related to cluster infections. 

 

As of 9 AM, February 27, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Mongolia has reached 2,866, and 76 percent and 2,183 patients have already recovered.

 

Today, a total of 668 COVID-19 patients are being treated at the National Center for Communicable Diseases, Central Military Hospital, and Khan-Uul District Clinic.  

 

According to the Health Ministry, 6,808 people of the priority group or health care workers have received their first shot of AstraZeneca vaccine against the coronavirus as of today, February 27.
