COVID-19: 58 new cases recorded

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today, the National Center for Communicable Diseases has reported the detection of 58 new cases of COVID-19 in the country after testing a total of 47,110 people in the past 24 hours at the laboratories in Ulaanbaatar city and Selenge, Darkhan-Uul and Dornod aimags. 


48 of them are found to be close contacts of the previously confirmed coronavirus patients and were under precautionary isolation, and remaining 10 cases have been detected as a result of ‘One door-One test’ the capital city-wide COVID-19 testing. Therefore,   as a result of the surveillance testing campaign, a total of 47 cases have been detected so far.


Today, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia have reached 2,551, including 1,819 recoveries, and 717 patients are currently being treated at hospitals. Out of all cases in the country, 1,712 cases were detected in Ulaanbaatar city. No new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in provinces.


Within the ‘One door-One test’ campaign, an individual aged over 18 from each of around 410,000 households of Ulaanbaatar is being tested by PCR during this state of public emergency readiness, which will be lifted at 6:00 AM, February 23.
