Colder temperatures expected for the next few days

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Snow and blizzards are expected in most parts of the country today on January 25, in the northern parts of western and eastern aimags as well as the northeastern parts of central aimags on January 26, in some parts of the country on January 27, and in the northern parts of western aimags and the northwestern parts of central aimags on January 29.

 

Wind speed will reach 14-16 m/sec in some areas on January 26 and 27, in the Gobi and plains on January 28, and in some parts of western aimags on January 29. 

 

With temperatures slightly dropping in the next few days, in the depression of Uvs lake and Darkhad, in the head of Zavkhan river, and in the basins of Ider and Tes rivers, the temperature will range from -35 to -40 degrees Celsius during the night, and -23 to -28 during the day.

 

In mountainous areas of Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentei, near Khurenbelchir, and in the basins of Ider, Eg, Uur, Orkhon, Selenge, Kharaa, Yuruu, Tuul, Terelj, and Kherlen rivers, the temperature will be -29 to -34 during the night, and -17 to -22 during the day.

 

In regions of the country with little snow, the night-time temperature will be -16 to -21 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperature will be -7 to -12 degrees Celsius.

 

In other areas, temperatures are expected to be -22 to -27 during the night, and -12 to -17 during the day. Warmer temperatures are expected from January 28.
