COVID-19: Five new cases detected in Selenge aimag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During today’s press briefing the Ministry of Health reported that five new cases of COVID-19 detected in Selenge aimag after 8574 tests were carried out nationwide yesterday, December 13.


According to Head of the Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases A.Ambaselmaa, the people tested positive for the virus were under isolation as they were close contacts to the previously confirmed cases. Thus, the total number of people diagnosed with the virus in Selenge aimag reached 213.


No new infection were detected in Ulaanbaatar city, Dornogobi, Darkhan-Uul, Gobisumber, Orkhon and Arkhangai aimags in the past 24 hours.


As of today, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia reached 912, with 384 recoveries.


Currently, there are 519 people receiving COVID-19 treatment at the National Center for Communicable Diseases and the Central Military Hospital. Of the 519 patients, 5 are in critical, 75 are in serious and 438 are in mild health condition.
