Transport Ministers of Mongolia and China meet virtually

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On December 10, Minister of Road and Transport Development L.Khaltar held a virtual meeting with his Chinese counterpart Li Xiaopeng.


Expressing his satisfaction with ever-expanding cooperation between the Ministries of Road and Transport Development of the two countries, Minister L.Khaltar voiced to collaborate actively towards deepening cooperation in the sector and realizing number of large works.


Further, the sides exchanged views on the following matters and agreed to cooperate in a wider scope to boost trade and transit transport between the two countries:


  • Negotiate junction point of Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod border crossing point
  • Renew Agreement on Mongolia-China Railway Border Ports
  • Newly establish Khangi-Mandal railroad port 
  • Increase capacity of Zamyn-Uud-Erlian railroad port
  • Commence operation of scheduled flights at phases when the pandemic situation subsides and make coordination so that MIAT Mongolian Airlines state-owned enterprise and China’s Air China Company co-hold travel (number) in the first turn
  • Make international pilot transport through Asian highway 4 (AH-4) corridor  
  • Renew Mongolia-China Intergovernmental Agreement on Auto Transport
  • Increase auto transport through Zamyn-Uud-Erlian and Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod border checkpoints.
