Resolution Reaffirming Strategic Partnership with Mongolia adopted by U.S. House of Representatives

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The House of Representatives of the
U.S. Congress adopted, December 8th, 2020, the Resolution
Reaffirming the strategic partnership between the United States and Mongolia,
submitted by Dina Titus and Donald Young, co-chairs of the Congressional Mongolia
Caucus, and Ted Yoho and David E.Price, Chairman of the House Democracy
Partnership, on September 4th, 2020.
As a result of the visit paid by President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga to the United States of America in September 2019, the heads of state made a joint statement on Declaration of Strategic Partnership between Mongolia and the United States of America.
Adoption of the Resolution Reaffirming the importance of the
strategic partnership between Mongolia and the United States as another outcome
of the said visit of the Mongolian President is expected to not only play an
important role in deepening and broadening the relationship growing stronger
based on the shared strategic interests, democratic values, good governance,
and respect for human rights, to give an impetus to the reading of the Mongolia
Third Neighbor Trade Act, submitted to the U.S. Congress.
The House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs
had approved the resolution on October 1st, 2020.
During the reading, Member of the House Ted Yoho mentioned
the Mongolia Third Neighbor Trade Act and asked the Members of the House for
their support for the bill.
Jamie Raskin, Member of the House said, while applauding Mongolia’s resilient effort for strengthening democracy, security, cooperation and respect for human rights, the resolution in question is a manifestation ever-broadening partnership between the two countries.
