Third edition of the National Atlas of Mongolia to be published
SocietyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The third edition of the National
Atlas of Mongolia will be published in Mongolian and English in 2021.
Over 120 experts and researchers from more than ten
scientific, governmental and non-governmental organizations are taking part in
redeveloping maps of the atlas.
The new edition of the atlas has included 256 thematic maps
at scales of 1: 200,000, 1: 500,000, 1: 1,000,000, 1: 2,000,000, and 1:
5,000,000, including 12 maps on administrative divisions and geographical location,
95 --on natural formations and resources, 27 -- on history, 51-- on population
and society, and 69-- on the economic situation.
The National Atlas of Mongolia was first published in 1990.
In 2009, the second edition was published by a group of scientists and
researchers of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences under the Presidential Decree.
