SocietyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Ya. Sodbaatar, Head of the State
Emergency Commission and Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, gave press information
on the present situation and decisions made at the meeting of a Council of the Head
of the State Emergency Commission, held today, November 14.
Ya. Sodbaatar said, “Today, 27 young children of 23 families,
who are classmates of a 4-year old child who tested positive for the
coronavirus, have been placed under isolation with their family members at the
Central Military Hospital for testing. They
are now being involved in accelerated testing for COVID-19.”
He added, “In connection with the strict lockdown, required measures are being taken to prevent food
supply disruptions. Within this
framework, we pay great importance to increase the meat supply. As of today,
food markets and supermarkets have been supplied with more than 2200 head of
livestock and 407 tons of meat. Since strict lockdown enforcement, the citizens
have bought twice as much food and meat as usual.
The number of vulnerable people and households was surveyed,
and monthly benefits for buying foods and other necessities were transferred to
the banking accounts of 242 thousand people.
In addition, more works are under progress to provide
dormitory students with food packages, improve disinfection in public
transport, increase the number of buses on each route and shorten the distance
between buses' drives to reduce the number of passengers to a minimum level.”
