Consultation on gender equality takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On November 5, the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs (MFA) in collaboration with the National Committee on Gender
Equality organized a consultative meeting with development partners in Mongolia
at MFA to discuss the implementation of joint gender equality projects and
programs.
The meeting was participated by Chinese Ambassador Chai
Wenrui, Canadian Ambassador Catherine Ivkoff, European Union Ambassador Traian
Hristea, United Nations Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra, and representatives
from the Embassies of Australia, United States, and Germany and offices of international
organizations in Ulaanbaatar.
In his opening address, MFA State Secretary N.Ankhbayar emphasized
that the Government of Mongolia places special emphasis on ensuring gender
equality and incorporating gender sensitivity in all of its development
policies and activities and that multilateral cooperation and support are of
great importance in fruitful policymaking and planning, and implementation and
expenditure monitoring, improved national capacity and experience-sharing.
Ya.Tumurbaatar, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Mongolia, T.Enkhbayar, Head
of the Secretariat of National Committee on Gender Equality, A.Amarbal,
Director of Population and Social Statistics Department of National Statistics
Office, and S.Tumendelger, lecturer at the National University of Mongolia,
gave presentations at the meeting.
The regular consultative meetings between the government and foreign partners help to exchange information on policies and activities, and ensure mutual trust and effective cooperation.
