buses designed for transporting students at Sukhbaatar Square on October 13.
Five of 200 Euro 5 standard school buses to be provided in phases to the Capital City Education Department over 3 years will be used to transport children of schools on the outskirts of the capital city. Statistics show that 30 thousand students on average travel by public transport to 224 schools in Ulaanbaatar. The 200 new buses will offer transport to 15 students who live far from school.
According to the Ulaanbaatar Development Corporation the 54-seat
school bus that costs around USD 130 thousand can be used for school trips and
other purpose.
55-seat electric double-deckers are also being added to the
capital city bus fleet. The double-decker buses can travel 200-250 km after
each charge.
