Energy Minister meets UN representatives

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Energy N.Tavinbekh met with Resident Representative of the United Nations in Mongolia Tapan Mishra, Representative of the UN Children's Fund in Mongolia Alex Heikens, and Deputy Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme in Mongolia Nashida Sattar.
At the meeting, the UN side expressed its readiness to
contribute to the country’s green development and provide support in renewable
energy sector and put some specific proposals regarding household affordability of
renewable energy resources and increase of Green households.
Minister N.Tavinbekh informed that the Government of
Mongolia has included a goal to increase renewable energy resources in its Action
Program. He also noted he would place special emphasis on creating an opportunity
for the western region to switch to green, affordable energy from imported
energy.
