Cooperation with Oyu Tolgoi discussed

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Today, September 2, Chief of the
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Brigadier General G. Ariunbuyan received Chief Executive Officer of Oyu Tolgoi Armando Torres. At the meeting, the
sides exchanged views on cooperation matters.
In 2019, the NEMA and
Oyu Tolgoi signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on disaster
protection and disaster management.
Within the MoU, the
parties are cooperating in the directions to prevent from possible disaster, industrial
accident, and fire at the mine site, take necessary rapid and effective response
measures in the event of a large-scale industrial accident, receive support and
assistance from other government organizations, organize a disaster management
training, share experiences as well as jointly develop rules of procedure for emergency
unit and rescue teams.
