Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Vice Chairman of the Mongolia-China Parliamentary Group, MP Sh.Adishaa and MP B.Delgersaikhan met yesterday with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia Chai Wenrui.

At the beginning of the meeting, MP B.Delgersaikhan expressed his satisfaction with the active relations between Mongolia and China even amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Since Mongolia declared the heightened state of readiness, 4,176 Mongolian citizens have been repatriated from China. With the start of university and high school classes in China, Mongolian students are submitting a request to travel to China, as well as members of mixed families. Therefore MP B.Delgersaikhan asked the Ambassador to provide necessary support in it.

Expressing that Mongolia-China parliamentary group would pay special attention to the development of cooperation between the two countries in all aspects, MP Sh.Adishaa noted that a meat factory, which has a capacity to export meat to China, being built with the investment of China in Gobi-Altai aimag has been slowed down due to COVID-19. In correspondence to this, he expressed his hope that the Chinese side would support the project.

For his part, Ambassador Chai Wenrui said, “Mongolia has put forth a request to China to pay more attention to the sharp decline in coal shipment caused by the pandemic. In response to the request, China has made efforts and the number of coal trucks crossing the border has increased dramatically and favorable conditions have been created.”

Furthermore, the Ambassador expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of China to Mongolia for the donation of 30,000 sheep during the difficult situation, noting that this was a historic event that showed the friendly cooperation between the two countries to the world.

Stressing the active development of Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields, the sides pledged to work actively for the regional peace and development, reports the Media and Public Relations Department of the Parliament.
