Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Mongolian Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore T.Lkhagvadorj met with authorities of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore on March 12.
Even though Singapore is one of the first countries that had
the Covid-19 outbreak outside China, it took immediate response actions within a
relatively short period and could control the spread. According to a study of
Harvard University, Singapore’s approach to the coronavirus is the ‘gold
standard’ for case detection.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the situation
of Covid-19 outbreak. Since protecting the interest of people of their own country is a prior
duty of accredited Ambassadors, the Mongolian Ambassador requested to have a flexible
approach to visa extensions of Mongolian citizens regarding the recent
situation.
The ICA authorities said that it aims to work flexibly on the
issue due to the recent situation and recommended applying visa-extension
requests online through the ICA’s e-extend server. Moreover, it is possible to come
to the ICA personally to apply for visa extensions.
