286 cases for HIV recorded in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A consultative meeting was held between parties involved in the prevention of HIV and AIDS on January 21.

100 participants representing partner organizations attended the meeting to hold discussions on defining priority measures for the project on TB prevention to be implemented with support from the Global Fund in 2021-2023. The project draft is to be submitted to the Global Fund in March 2020.

 

With the first project on HIV implemented with the fund’s support kicking off in Mongolia in 2003, the current project is to continue until December 31, 2020.

 

85 percent of financing from international organizations for nationwide measures being taken on the prevention of HIV/AIDS is taken by the financing of the Global Fund. As of 2019, there have been 286 cases for HIV/AIDS, with 46 people having died from the condition.
