Workshop on actions to fight tuberculosis underway in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The first consultation workshop organized by the Global Fund Mongolia is taking place with engagement from multi-sectoral partners to discuss and frame main activities for the Global Fund (GF) Tuberculosis concept note for 2021-2023.
Today, tuberculosis remains a major public health issue in Mongolia despite the country’s significant progress to address the epidemic. Continued work and intensified efforts and engagement are imperative in successfully fighting and preventing TB in the country and meeting the global goal of ending TB by 2030.
The World Health Organization Representative to Mongolia, Dr Sergey Diorditsa, commends the active participation from partners from and beyond the health sector including the legal sector and NGOs, and reiterates that WHO will continue to support national counterparts in intensifying efforts to end TB in the country.
