English-Mongolian interpreter training course to be organized in Brussels

The European Union (EU) organizes an interpreter training course in Brussels,
Belgium, which will be implemented by the Directorate-General for
Interpretation of the European Commission, one of the EU institutions.
It
is a 5-month training course with English-Mongolian for up to 6 participants,
which has been provisionally scheduled from July to November 2020. The
participants would receive a monthly grant to cover cost of living and
accommodation as well as travel cost and course costs.
A process of receiving applications for the training course is underway and the deadline is 8pm of January 19, 2020.
Up
to 24 preselected candidates who meet certain qualifications will be involved
in a selection test organized by the EU Delegation to Mongolia during the first
half of March 2020. Some of the qualifications are: be Mongolian citizens with
Mongolian as mother tongue; have a perfect understanding of English across the
full range of registers and be aware of-and able to understand-a range of
accents in English, as well as others.
The
selected candidates are expected to be available to work as a freelance interpreter
for the EU Delegation for at least 5 years after the training course.
