‘Vision-2050’ presented to Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On January 3, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh was presented the ‘Vision-2050’ policy document, which was formulated by a working group comprising of 1500 people, including scholars, experts and state secretaries of 13 ministries, heads of some government agencies, authorities of universities and representatives of non-government organizations.
According to the Prime Minister's order No: 52 dated April 30, 2019, the working group was set up to analyze development stages of the past 30 years of Mongolia and formulate the policy document that will define long and mid-term development policy until 2050.
There were 517 long, medium
and short-term development projects, programs and policy documents adhered in
Mongolia since 1992, however their realizations were insufficient and poorly
interrelated. Thus, the working group focused on this matter and reviewed
mistakes, lessons and achievements of all projects and programs implemented in the sectors
and formulated the next 30-year plan in consistent with international approach.
The formulation of the document took seven months and completed just before the
New Year.
During the handover ceremony, L.Oyun-Erdene, Chief of the Cabinet Secretariat of Government and Head of the Working Group, presented the specifics of the policy document, alongside the brief introductions by academician and Prof T.Dorj and Honored Teacher S.Dulam. Spheres that will be prioritized in the economic sector over the next 30 years have been defined to be Mining and related processing industry, Agriculture and related processing industry, Renewable energy, Transportation and logistics, Diversified tourism and Creative industries. Likewise, development policies of all sectors, grounds of implementation, basic research and the feasibility study have been detailed in the policy document.
On behalf of the Government
and him personally, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation to over 1500
scholars, researchers, experts, public servants and representatives of NGOs,
who worked in the working group for past seven months.
Commending the development
document until 2050 which evaluated failures and achievements of the past years,
the PM highlighted this long-term development policy document to be a polar
star of Mongolia’s future development.
After discussing the ‘Vision-2050’
at the Cabinet meeting in the near future, it will be submitted to the
Parliament.
