Education Minister visits Facebook Headquarters in California

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg visited
to the Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park in California, the U.S, holding meetings with representatives of Facebook Corporation and
Mongolian youths who are working in Facebook Corporation.
According to 2018 Inclusive Internet Index of the Facebook Corporation, Mongolia was ranked first in Asia and 10th in the world with affordability. In connection with wide use of internet, digital bullying among school children is occurring. In this regard, the Minister exchanged views on how to collaborate on this matter.
Last year, the National Police Agency of Mongolia held a meeting with Facebook Asia Pacific, discussing issues on developing cooperation towards combating cybercrime and reached to agreement to take actions together for eliminating this kind of crimes. The Education Minister recalled the issues talked at last year’s meeting and asked to convey to related authorities his request to involve Mongolian police officers of cybercrime division in training, enabling them learn experiences and implement joint project and programs in the field.
Facebook Corp’s representatives replied to study the requests and take actions in the near future and provided
a presentation on how an advanced VR technology is being applied in education
and health sectors.
Mongolian youths who work in the Facebook Corporation shared
views about proper use of e-data and underlined an
importance of creating a content on e-education.
