Mongolian delegates attend high-level meeting

delegates attended the High-level Meeting on the occasion of the 30th
anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, held on November
20-21 under the auspice of the 74th Session of the UN General
Assembly.
At the meeting,
representatives of the member states expressed positions on achievements and
challenges encountered in the past 30 years to protect children’s rights, and
goals to overcome and to be taken further.
Deputy Permanent
Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations P.Baasankhuu pointed out that
one of priorities of the government is to promote and protect children’s rights
and introduced Mongolia’s achievements and challenges of recent years in this
direction, and policies and activities being taken by Mongolian government for
promoting and protecting children’s rights.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted on November 20, 1989. Mongolia joined the convention on July 5, 1990.
