Mongolists gather for Asian regional conference in Seoul

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The 3rd
Asian Regional Conference of the International Association for Mongolian
Studies (IAMS) took place at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul, the
Republic of Korea on November 8-9.
Held under the theme ‘Cultural
heritage of Mongolia’, the conference brought together 69 scholars and
researchers from over 10 countries and officials of Mongolia and S.Korea.
Scholars and researchers
presented their works at six sessions including ‘Policy and research on
cultural heritage,’ ‘Mongolian archaeology’ and others and exchanged views in
detail with participants. It provided scholars, particularly young researchers,
an opportunity to receive a wide range of information.
During the conference, a
message of gratitude of the Mongolia’s President Kh.Battulga was voiced to the
participants. In the message, the President expressed his commitment to the promotion
of Mongolian studies and requested active participation of all Mongolists and
scholars in the celebration of the 800th anniversary of ancient
capital-- Karakorum in 2020 and the 12th International Congress of
Mongolists in 2021.
