Support requested to train school psychologists

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Yo.Baatarbileg, Minister of Education, Culture and Science, met with Dr.Sergey Diorditsa, Resident Representative of the World Health Organization /WHO/ on November 4.

Minister Yo.Baatarbileg said, “It attracts attention that today’s children feel stressed because of all kinds of information, social impacts and family affairs besides school, and further it causes them to suffer psychological tension and get involved in crimes. Therefore, general educational schools need to have a psychologist,” asking Dr. Sergey Diorditsa a support to train child psychologists and create a working environment for them.     

The Minister mentioned that the country is focusing on adolescent health education, approved health  curriculum and launched health class with official textbook, while stressing the necessity to pay attention on improving health education and right attitude and habits of parents and caregivers.

The WHO Resident Representative expressed commitment to study possibilities to cooperate on this matter within the Ministry of Health and other relevant projects.
